Wren Leo Trosper, age 94, of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the Central Nebraska Veterans Home, in Kearney, Nebraska. He was born on May 26, 1931 to Orva Benjamin and Josephine Florence (Heitmann) Trosper at the family home 4 miles south and 3.4 miles west of Cambridge, Nebraska.

Wren attended school at District 45 which was 1 mile east and ½ mile south of home on his Grandpa Benjamin (Frank) Trosper’s land. In 1946, Wren was the first of Orva’s children to attend high school in Cambridge, graduating with the class of 1949.

He became an apprentice as an electrician working for Willard Williams until 1952 and on February 22, 1952 was married to Donna Doreen Mills at the First Baptist Church in Holbrook, Nebraska. He was drafted in the United States Army on April 11, 1952 in Omaha, Nebraska and then sent to Joplin, Missouri by train and began training at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Eight weeks training and back to Fort Lewis, Washington to board a ship “Marine Links” arriving in Pusan, Korea on November 14, 1952. He served on the frontline for 8 months in Punch Bowl, Korea.

After his service duty, Wren farmed for his father-in-law Robert Mills from 1953 until 1981 and due to health, he changed jobs and worked for the city of Cambridge for 13 years before retiring. He would help Merrill Stagemeyer farm for many years.

Wren married Luella J. Bond on May 10, 2003 at the United Methodist Church and they resided for 22 years in Arapahoe. Due to health issues, Luella moved to an assisted living in Ravenna, Nebraska on August 11, 2025. He would then move to the Central Nebraska Veteran’s Home in Kearney on August 13, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Donna passed away on August 16, 2001, his son Bob Trosper passed away on June 7, 2020, seven sister; Geneva, Mildred, Marie, Roberta, Twila, Ardis, and Donna, and three brothers Eldon, Fred, and Gary; ten brothers-in-law Clyde Fuller, Roy Farr, Glen Miner, William Menges, Willard Lorimer, George Wier, Leonard Swanson, Don Richardson, Rodney Burke, and Raymond Boyer; two sisters-in-law Nellie Jean and Mary Trosper.

He is survived by two daughters Kathy and Doreen Trosper of Cambridge, and two sisters Joyce Boyer of Smith Center, Kansas and Dixie Swanson of Curtis, Nebraska and a host of nieces and nephews.
