William Junior Anderson

Arapahoe, Nebraska William Junior Anderson, age 79, of Elwood, Nebraska, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, in Kearney, Nebraska. He was born November 27, 1928 at the Homerville area, in Gosper County, Nebraska to William L. & Meryl J. (Whistler) Anderson. He attended grammar school at Homerville, and then graduated from Elwood High School with the Class of 1946. After high school he served in the Army and later given a honorary medical discharge. He would come back to the family farm and raise hogs, horses, dairy, and registered Polled Herefords. On February 27, 1954, he married Martha Louis Mayer. He ran the Roller Skating Rink in Farnam, Nebraska for a few years. His love for dance began there and followed the rest of his life as they would also enjoy Round and Square Dancing. In 1993, he suffered a stroke, but would still help through out the farm. He was a member of the St. Germanus Catholic Church, of Arapahoe, Nebraska, Heart of Nebraska Hereford Association, Southwest Nebraska Hereford Association, and Old Reliable in Grand Island, Nebraska. In 2002, was awarded outstanding 4-H Alumni in Gosper County, Nebraska. He is preceded in death by his parents, Brothers Verne, Clark, Lynn, & Sisters Vera Ziebell & Clara Rosefeld Survivors include his wife Martha Anderson of Elwood, Nebraska Sons: Tony & wife Keri Anderson of Alma, Nebraska Timothy & wife Pam Anderson of Kimball, Nebraska Todd & wife Shalene Anderson of Elwood, Nebraska Daughters: Tamara & husband Harlan Grunden of Curtis, Nebraska Tonna & husband Ron Drudik of Ord, Nebraska Trudy & husband Mike Nolles of Bassett, Nebraska Grandchildren: 15 Great-Grandchildren: 11 Sister: Alta & husband Garnet Sanders of Cheyenne, Wyoming Sister-In-Law: Mary Graf of Arapahoe, Nebraska Condolences or personal reflections can be left at www.wenburgfuneralhome.com. Viewing and visitation will be Saturday, April 5, from 9 AM till 8 PM and Sunday, April 6, from 1 PM till 5 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Rosary will be Sunday, April 6, at 7:30 PM at St. Germanus Catholic Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska. Funeral Mass will be Monday, April 7, at 10:30 AM at the St. Germanus Catholic Church of Arapahoe, Nebraska with Father Robert Barnhill, officiating. Burial will be at Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
