Wesley LaVerne Warner, age 86, of Edison, Nebraska left for Heaven on Monday, September 7, 2026 at Christian Homes in Holdrege, Nebraska. He was born on November 22, 1939 in Oxford, Nebraska to George and Violet (Cross) Warner.
He attended grade school and graduated from Edison High School with the class of 1958.
Wesley married his high school sweetheart, Janet E. Hand on July 22, 1961. To this union three children were born; Kandis, Paul, and Joanie. They farmed south of Edison while the children were growing up, then moved in to Edison and Wesley worked crop insurance for many years. His heart was in the farming, but he enjoyed meeting the many different farmers and working insurance claims for them. He never met a stranger.
Wesley enjoyed reading the Bible and read it thru many times. He loved the Lord. Following Him was paramount in his heart and life. Daily devotions were important to him. He enjoyed attending Southwest Nebraska Holiness Church of rural Wauneta, Nebraska and taught Sunday School there for quite a few years.
Wesley was a selfless man, always putting others before himself.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Duane and wife Elaine Warner, brother Eldon, and infant sister Arlene, sister Cleetis Thayn and husband Robert, niece Connie Thayn, and nephew Douglas Warner.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, daughter Kandis (Rick) Turner of Holdrege, Nebraska, son Paul Warner of North Platte, Nebraska, and Joanie Warner of Kearney, Nebraska, grandsons Jered (Chelsie) Turner and sons Gideon & Joshua of Morocco, Jordan (Briann) Turner and son Huxley of SC, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delights in his way. Psalm 37:23
