Vona Mae Hardenbrook

Beaver City, Nebraska Vona Mae Hardenbrook, age 86, of Beaver City, Nebraska died on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Harlan County Hospital, Alma, Nebraska. She was born on November 26, 1922 at Beaver City, Nebraska to Clem & Adie J. (Thompson) Harman. She was raised in Arapahoe, Nebraska. She married Bud Dale Hardenbrook on September 24, 1937 at Hill City, Kansas. They made their home at rural Beaver City, Nebraska were they lived for 8 years, and then moved into Beaver City. Her husband Bud passed away on March 21, 1976. She moved to Alma, Nebraska and would return to Beaver City in the early 1990's. She would work at Kelly's Supermarket, Beaver City Manor, & Beaver City Locker, & Swanson's of Oxford, Nebraska. She worked at the Alma Senior Center until retiring in 1993. Through the years she enjoyed quilting and donating many of them to the Harlan County Hospital Auxilary . In May of 2006 she moved into the Beaver City Assisted Living and later the Beaver City Manor. She was a member and officer of the VFW Auxilary and member of the former Grace Brethren Church now Faith Community Church, both of Beaver City. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Raymond, Eli, & Perry Harman, sisters Ethel, Jessie, Marie, Ruphenia, & Millie and 2 infant siblings. She is survived by Sons: Larry & wife Karen Hardenbrook, of Beaver City, Nebraska Ray & wife Toni Hardenbrook of Axtell, Nebraska Butch & wife Sue Hardenbrook of Beaver City, Nebraska Johnny & wife Karen Marie Hardenbrook of Walthill, Nebraska Daughters: Dotty & husband Tom Biros of Beaver City, Nebraska Ruth & husband Matt Chamberland of Uxbridge, Massachusetts Brother-In-Law: Bob & wife Erma Hardenbrook of Thornton, Colorado Sister-In-Law: Jeanie Harman of Riverside, California Grandchildren: 18 Great Grandchildren: 30 Condolences and personal reflections may be left at wenburgfuneralhome.com Viewing and visitation will be Sunday, September 6, from 1 PM till 8 PM and Monday, September 7, from 9 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 8, at 10:30 AM at the Faith Community Church, Beaver City, Nebraska with Pastor Dwain Fowler, officiating. Burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Beaver City, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
