rapahoe, Nebraska Ronald Dean Latham, age 73, of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge, Nebraska. He was born on October 5, 1939 in Omaha, Nebraska to Ernest & Leona (Seifert) Latham. Ron grew up in Carter Lake, Iowa. He graduated from Omaha Tech High School in 1957. He then served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1957- 1959. After returning from his military duty, he attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He married Connie Kay Laumann on December 5, 1965. God blessed them with 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 46 years of marriage. Ron would retire from a life-long career in the fence business in 2001. His job had them living in Chicago, Illinois, Green Bay, Wisconsin, & South Bend, Indiana and finally back in Nebraska in 1972. Between 1972 and 2001 they lived in Omaha and Bennington. Upon retirement, Ron & Connie moved to Arapahoe, Nebraska in 2001. Ron loved the Lord and knew Jesus Christ as his personal savior. He embraced every opportunity to share with others his faith and testimony. Both he and Connie have relied heavily on their faith over the last 16 years after Connie was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1994. Ron was Connie's caregiver and steadfast companion. He is preceded in death by his parents He is survived by his wife Connie Latham of Arapahoe, Nebraska Daughter: Lisa & husband Jason Anderson of Arapahoe, Nebraska Sons: Scott Latham of Lincoln, Nebraska Joseph Latham of Fort Carson, Colorado Brother: Gary & wife Linda Latham of Henderson, Nevada 5 Grandchildren: Wyatt, Clare, & Gentry Anderson, Chase & Grant Latham Condolences & personal reflections may be left at wenburgfuneralhome.com No viewing or visitation as cremation was chosen. Memorial services will be Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 1 PM at River Valley Evangelical Free Church of Arapahoe, Nebraska with Pastor Nathan Goshert, officiating. Military rites given after service by the American Legion Post #343 of Edison, Nebraska. Inurnment will be at a later date. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
