Ron R. Schoneberg

Ron R. Schoneberg, age 74, of Orleans, Nebraska passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 at his home. He was born on September 4, 1941 at Holdrege, Nebraska to Glen and Mildred (Conant) Schoneberg. Ron graduated from Orleans High School in 1959 and Kearney State College in 1963. He taught at Paxton High School for two years. The he went to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln attaining his Master’s Degree in Education. While attending school, he met D’Maris Stewart at the World’s Fair in New York City in 1964 and were married in 1966 Ron & D’Maris had two Children: Ronald Mark and Michelle Rene’. The Schoneberg’s moved to Grayslake, Illinois in 1969. He taught at the College of Lake County until 1980. In 1988, he taught at McCook Community College in McCook, Nebraska until his retirement in 2002. While in Arapahoe, he was on the Planning Board, Cemetery Board, Senior Center Board, and the District 11 Educational Service Unit Board. In 2015, Ron & D’Maris moved to Orleans and resided in his parent’s house. He is survived by his wife D’Maris Schoneberg of Orleans, Nebraska, son Ronald Mark Schoneberg of Hickman, Nebraska, daughter Michelle Harsh of Hickman, Nebraska, sisters Sandra and husband Larry McManus of Edgewood, Washington, Bonnie Phinney of Lacey, Washington, 3 grandchildren; Autumn and Chance Schoneberg, and Ethan Harsh, 3 great-grandchildren: Haidyn, Aubree, and Kynlee. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 1 PM and Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 2 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Orleans, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements. Memorials will be designated at a later date.
