Randall Scott Breinig passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and a team of compassionate, wonderful nurses, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on October 8, 1958, Scott was the third child of F. Duane and Barbara Breinig. He graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1977 and continued his education at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, graduating in 1981.

In 1984, Scott married the love of his life, Pamela Hejny, beginning a beautiful 42-year journey together. Their family grew when Abbey Jo joined the fun in 1987, and in 1990, Amelia Jane made their family complete.

Throughout his life, Scott was a passionate agricultural entrepreneur. He thrived on the business, loved meeting with customers, and had a knack for buying and selling semis. Above all, he cherished the connections he made during his harvest runs across the country. Over the last decade, he thoroughly enjoyed having his brother Steve join him on the road. Scott expanded his harvest crew to include workers from South Africa, bringing a bit of culture to the operation, and to Scott, his employees were truly like family.

A die-hard Husker fan through and through, Scott was a dedicated football season ticket holder who rarely missed a home game in Lincoln. As Abbey and Amelia grew up, they inherited his passion for the Big Red, turning game days into a treasured family tradition. The Breinigs cherished their weekend trips to Lincoln to cheer on the Huskers, memories made all the sweeter by always having a home away from home crashing at Steve and Ruth’s house.

Throughout his illness, Scott demonstrated extraordinary bravery, patience, and resilience, a true testament to his character and unwavering spirit.

Scott is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela; his daughters, Abbey Jo and Amelia Jane; his sister, Wendy and her husband Mike; his sister-in-law, Ruth Breinig; his brother-in-law, Terry Hejny and his wife Pam; his uncles, Neal McCoy and Victor Breinig; his aunt, Delores Bolte; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, F. Duane and Barbara Breinig; his brother, Steven Breinig; his sister, Vickie Breinig; and his parents-in-law, Richard and Irene Hejny.
