Patricia A. Cox

Patricia Cox, age 73, of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026 at Kearney Regional Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. She was born in Liberal, Kansas in the early 1950’s; during her early childhood her family relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she continued to live until early adulthood. In the early 1970’s she married and relocated with her new family to Nebraska. After relocating a handful of times over the decades, she settled finally in Arapahoe, Nebraska, where she remained until her sudden and untimely passing on July 21st, 2026.

Pat enjoyed gardening, sewing, shopping for a bargain, antiques, music, and being generally creative in all aspects of her life. She also immensely enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren; supporting them in any way she could – whether giving them a temporary home, attending their various school functions, or simply always having a treat waiting in the green glass jar on the counter. She repeatedly expressed how proud she was of her family; all their achievements and successes.

Pat was an avid reader; her bible being one of the books she read daily. She loved her personal relationship with God, and was fully aware that he was there with her at the end, to hold her hand and carry her safely home. While her death was truly unexpected, she had family members with her, nearby; she was not alone.

Pat made an impact on the lives of many people over the course of her very full life; she had lifelong friends and made community connections no matter where she lived; her presence will be missed by many. She was truly an example of resilience in the face of adversity.

Pat leaves behind two younger sisters, four married children, numerous grandchildren, a large extended family, and more friends than she may have ever fully realized.

A public celebration of her life will be held at a future date and location yet to be determined.
