Norma Jean Roberts

Beaver City, Nebraska. Norma Jean Roberts, age 75, of Beaver City, Nebraska died Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Harlan Co Hospital at Alma, Nebraska. She was born January 15, 1936 at Beaver City, Nebraska to Peary and Ileta (Leiding) Harman. She was raised in Beaver City and then during 3rd grade the family moved North of Holdrege where they farmed and she attended snowball school . The family resided in Holdrege through the 8th grade and then they moved back to Beaver City where she attended High School. At the age of 15 she moved back to Holdrege and worked at a drug store as a waitress. In 1953 she married LaMonte Hollertz and to this union 5 children were born. In 1967 she moved to Lyons, Colorado where she resided for 42 years. She owned Dairy Lite and cooked in many local cafes in Lyons, Colorado. She married Ira K. "Ken" Roberts, whom died in 1994. She retired as Head Bookkeeper at Rocky Flats in Boulder, Colorado. She moved back to Beaver City, Nebraska in October of 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Ira "Ken" Roberts. Survivors include; 3 Sons: Allan L & wife Lana Hollertz of Holdrege, NE Kevin M. Hollertz of Huntley, NE Robin L. Hollertz and friend Shannon Land of Holdrege, NE 2 Daughters: Susan and husband Jim Robinson of Huntley, NE Karen L. Buettner and friend Ivan Snider of Holbrook, NE Brotheer: Peary & wife Theresa Harman Jr. of Boulder, CO Sister: Betty & husband Arthur Lee of Lyons, CO Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren: 3 Condolences or personal reflections can be left at www.wenburgfuneralhome.com Viewing and visitation will be Monday, June 13, 2011, 9 AM until 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, Nebraska and prior to services Tuesday at the church. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 PM at First United Methodist Church in Beaver City, Nebraska with Rev. Michael Flury, officiating. Cremation to follow services with private inurnment at a later date. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska in charge of services.
