Nellie (Schamp-Krewson) Scheibel

Beaver City , Nebraska Nellie (Schamp-Krewson) Scheibel, age 84, of Beaver City, Nebraska died Sunday, September 19, 2004 at Beaver City Manor. She was born August 12, 1920 at Erickson, Nebraska to Schuyler & Mae (Herron) Schamp. She grew up in the the Ericson, Nebraska area and attended Ericson public Schools. She married Lyle Krewson in 1935 and they lived in the Ericson, Spalding area until 1950 at which time they moved to the Red Cloud, Nebraska area. They divorced in 1952. Nellie moved the Bladen area as she worked at Hastings Ammunition depot. In 1958 she married Ralph Scheibel, they spent 1 year in Titusville, Florida and returned to Nebraska. Ralph died in early 80’s. She moved to Shelton where she resided with her son Lee for over 20 years. She moved to be near her daughter Jeannie at Stamford, Nebraska in 1999. Moved to nursing home in Oxford, Nebraska in 2001 and on Sept 21, 2001 entered the Beaver City Manor where she resided till her death. She had spent a lot of her life as a cook in café and hotels. She was a member of Berean Church in Shelton & Glad Tidings Church in Gibbon, Nebraska. Preceded in death by parents, husbands, 3 sons: Ermine and Dennis Krewson & Terry Scheibel; grandson Tim Daley, on great grandson; Schuyler D. Groves, 4 sisters: Frances, Pearl, Maude and Sarah; 9 Brothers: Lawrence, Skyde, Louis, Walker, Charlie, Alvin, Joe, Fred and Harry Schamp. Survivors include: 2 sons: Lee Krewson of Stamford, Nebraska Freddie Krewson & wife Robin of Sidney, Iowa 1 Daughter: Jeannie Daley of Stamford, Nebraska 1 Sister: Mae Kinney & husband Junior of Burwell, NE Grandchildren: 16 Great Grandchildren 18 Great-Great Grandchildren: 1 Viewing and visitation will be Tuesday, September 21, 2004 from 9 AM till 4 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, Nebraska and one hour prior to services at First United Methodist Church, 4500 Lyndon Drive, Kearney, Nebraska. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at 10:30 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, 4500 Lyndon Dr, Kearney, Nebraska with Rev. Ron Harris & Linda Knipping, officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Center Cemetery rural Kearney, Nebraska. O’brien-Straatman-Apfel Funeral Home of Kearney & Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska in charge of arrangements.
