Marvis Ann (Bowen-Kinsman) Darling, age 75, of Hays, Kansas formerly of Beaver City, Republican City and Alma area, died Monday, March 22, 2010 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas. She was born March 16, 1935 at Oxford, Nebraska to Charles Wilmur and Mabel Ann (Zike) Bowen. Until the age of 3, she lived North East of Beaver City on the Carl Modlin farm. In 1938 the family moved into Beaver City. Marvis graduated from Beaver City High School with the Class of 1952. She married Arthur Wayne Kinsman on December 13, 1952 in Colorado. They made their home in Beaver City. Marvis started working for the US Postal Service in 1958 and was promoted to Postmaster at Beaver City in 1984 and retired on March 16, 1990. Following the death of her husband Art in March of 1981, she was united in marriage to Jim Darling at Norton, Kansas on Oct 11, 1981. They resided in Norton until October of 1989 when they moved to Beaver City for a short time before moving to Republican City after her retirement. After her retirement Jim and Marivs wintered for 11 years in Zapata, Texas. In 2005 they moved to Alma, Nebraska and then in September of 2009 moved to Hays, Kansas. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary of Beaver City, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by parents, husband Arthur, Brothers: Don, Jim and Dean Bowen, Sisters: Opal McCarty and Doii Haussler and One Great Grandson Caden Ray Simpson. Survivors include husband Jim Darling of Hays, Kansas 2 Sons: Wayne Kinsman of Alma, Nebraska Kurt Kinsman and Wife Sandy of San Antonio, Texas 1 Daughter: Karla and husband Curt Bieber of Hays, Kansas 2 Step-Sons: Ron Darling and wife Becky of Colby, Kansas Jerry Darling and wife Lora of Norton, Kansas 2 Brother-in-Laws: Glenn Kinsman & wife Peg of Friend, Nebraska Robert Haussler of Arapahoe, Nebraska 1 Sister-in-law: Phyllis Bowen of Missouri Grandchildren: 5 Step-Grandchildren: 7 Great-Grandchildren: 3 Step-Great-Grandchildren: 1 Marvis would rather have memorials to Cancer Society, First Christian Church of Beaver City or donor’s choice instead of flowers. Memorial may be left at funeral home or at services Saturday. Condolences or personal reflection can be left at http://www.wenburgfunerlhome.com/ Graveside services will be Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 11 AM at Mount Hope Cemetery in Beaver City with Pastor John Sievering and Keith Theobald officiating. No viewing or visitation as body was cremated. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska in charge of arrangements.
