Beaver City, Nebraska Martha Margaret "Peg" Frack, age 86, of Holdrege, Nebraska died Friday, October 7, 2011 at Mary Lanning Hospital at Hastings, Nebraska, after a year and half battle with lung cancer. She was born September 29, 1925 at Heartwell, Nebraska to Abie & Eula (Bull) Elliott. Peg, as she was known as, graduated from Heartwell, Nebraska High School in 1943. She moved to Omaha where she was employed as a telephone operator following graduation. Later she moved to Hastings, Nebraska where she worked at the Navy Depot, where she met and later married Harold Lowell Frack on April 19, 1946 at the Methodist Church in Hastings. In 1947 Peg graduated from Cosmetology School in Hastings. Following graduation they moved to Holbrook, Nebraska, where she was a beauty operator. They built and operated a grocery store in Holbrook, Nebraska, later a locker plant was added and Harold's Brother Duane "Corky" and his wife Mary Frances came into the business. After several years Harold & Peg decided to move to and operate the family farm south of Hendley, Nebraska, which they did until the mid 1980's. Peg had many careers during this time, she worked as an assistant Postmaster in Holbrook, an ASCS associate in Beaver City, Postmistress in Hendley, and finally worked 16 years at B-D in Holdrege until her retirement in 1984. They enjoyed wintering in Texas for several years and moved to Norton, Kansas in 1995. While in Norton, Peg enjoyed her membership in the Methodist Church was active in UMW, where she devoted a lot of volunteer time to the After School Program, United Methodist Thrift Shop and Meals on Wheels. In 2007 she moved to Holdrege, Nebraska to live with her Daughter Betty. She again became active in the Methodist Church, was a member of the Ladies Group. She was a 50 plus member of the Methodist Church, She was also a member of the Hard Times Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, Sisters: Lenora Nelson, Ilene Karnes, Brother-in-laws Claris W. "Steve" Nelson, Lawrence "Bud" Karnes, Duane Frack and nephew Larry Karnes. Survivors include ; Son: James E Frack & wife Rhonda of Norcatur, Kansas Daughters: Betty Frack of Holdrege, Nebraska Debra & husband Mike Chesterman of Nebraska City, Nebraska Sister: Barbara A. Elliott of Lincoln, Nebraska Sister-in-law: Mary Frances Frack of Lincoln, Nebraska Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren: Russell Frack & wife Gina and their children Brendon & Kara, of Norton, Kansas; Kimberly & husband Dan Pearson of Cambridge, Nebraska and their children: Sam and Matt; Dianne Nelson and former husband Doran Nelson of McPherson, Kansas and their sons: Zach, Gabe, Seth and Ethan; Christopher Frack & wife Lacy of Norton, Kansas and their sons; Colton & Cooper. Shawn & wife Marianne Chesterman of Holdrege, and their children; Jackson and Marlena, Mindy & husband Christopher Driskell of Nebraska City and their son Ashton. Nephews: Ronald Karnes & wife Sharon of Hastings, Nebraska; Jeff Frack & wife Donna of Lincoln, Nebraska; Rodney Frack & wife Ann of Minneapolis, Kansas, Stephen Frack & wife Susan of Lincoln, Nebraska. Nieces Kathy & husband Lane Luttrell of Baton Rouge, LA and many cherished friends, cousins, neighbors, great nephews and great nieces. Memorial Services will be Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Rev. Dale Lambert, officiating. Private inurnment will be at a later date. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska in charge of arrangements.
