Arapahoe, Nebraska Marjorie M. Mernin, age 96, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away on September 10, 2007 at Brookestone Village Care Center, Omaha, Nebraska. She was born on December 28, 1910 at Wilsonville, Nebraska to Pete & Alice (Jenkins) Van Cleave. She was a graduate of Wilsonville High School, Wilsonville, Nebraska and University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska, after which she taught in a one room schoolhouse. She married Dr. Francis S. "Doc" Mernin on June 30, 1936. They made their home in Arapahoe, Nebraska were she was a resident for 55 years. She was an active community volunteer and took many leadership roles in Arapahoe Woman's Club and St. Germanus Catholic Church, of Arapahoe, Nebraska were she was a member. She was also responsible for starting the Girl Scout program in the Arapahoe area. In 2001, she moved to Omaha, Nebraska to be closer to her daughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dr. Francis Mernin, Brother Dale Van Cleave, Sisters Audrey Eisenhart & Fern Jones. She is survived by her daughter Mary & husband Hal Daub of Omaha, Nebraska Condolences & personal reflections may be left at http://www.wenburgfuneralhome.com/. Viewing & Visitation will be Friday, September 14, 2007 from 9 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe, Nebraska. Rosary service will be Saturday, September 15, at 9:45 AM with Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 AM at St. Germanus Catholic Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Father Robert Barnhill, officiating. Interment will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
