Lois B. Koller

Lois B. Koller, age 105, of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at her home at Prairie Pines Retirement Center at Arapahoe. She was born on April 9, 1909, at Crab Orchard, Nebraska to James S. & Loretta B. (Hafner) Marshall. Lois graduated with her normal school training from Peru State College and went on to teach at a country school near Crab Orchard for 5 years. She married John H. Koller on June 9, 1935 and made their home at Grant, Nebraska. John would work for Hunt Telephone Company in Sutherland, Nebraska. In 1951, they moved to Arapahoe when they bought the Arapahoe Telephone Company in 1953. Her husband John passed away in 1980. Lois was the first resident in the Prairie Pines Retirement Center in Arapahoe, Nebraska in 1997. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, PEO Chapter CE, and the Women’s Club of Arapahoe, Nebraska Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband John H. Koller, 3 brothers James Lee, Ross, & Douglas Marshall, and great grandson Alec Koller. She is survived by her son John M. & wife Sheryl Koller of Arapahoe, Nebraska Daughter: Valerie & husband Jack Blauvelt of McCook, Nebraska Grandchildren: 6 Great Grandchildren: 18 Great-Great Grandchildren: 2 Condolences or personal reflections can be left at wenburgfuneralhome.com There will be no viewing or visitation. Funeral services will be on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Pastor Becky Saddler, officiating. Interment will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery at Arapahoe, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the Arapahoe Library. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
