Linda Lou Pate

Linda Lou Pate, age 76, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Cullman, Alabama. She was born to Ralph & Hazel (Hardenbrook) Christensen on August 13, 1943 at Beaver City, Nebraska. Linda was one of four children and was raised on the family farm near Beaver City. She attended school at Beaver City High School, where she was a cheerleader with the nickname of “Mighty Mouse” due to her small size. Many years later, her husband Wayne came to understand the nickname, because of her strong will to do the right thing. Linda graduated with the class of 1961. After graduation Linda attended Nebraska Christian College in Norfolk, NE and then entered the US Air Force where she served for 2 years. Linda was married to the love of her life, Wayne Pate, for 38 years. She loved to travel, so she & Wayne tried to visit all the places they wished to see. Wayne loved to tell her that they had a 38 year honeymoon, and loved every minute, and will continue that journey when they meet in Heaven. Linda had a strong faith in God that grew and sustained her throughout her struggles with health late in life. Left to mourn Linda’s death are her husband, Wayne Pate; her son, Michael Louis Hancock (Melissa); her daughter, Lori Michelle Hancock; stepsons Jeff Pate (Jill); Mark Pate (Debbie); her sister, Sharon Rupe (John); her brother, Neal Christensen (Karen); sister-in-law Sue Christensen; her grandchildren, Haley Murray (Brandon); and Grant & Madison Hancock. Her step grandchildren, Grant Fuller; Brandie Hill (Michael); Stefany Keisler (Jacob), and Leslie Pate, and her many nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Doran Christensen, and her stepson Roger Pate. Memorial service will be Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11 AM at the First Christian Church of Beaver City, Nebraska with Jim Garfield, officiating. Inurnment will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Beaver City, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home, of Beaver City, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
