LaVonna "Arlene" Fewell

LaVonna "Arlene" Fewell, age 80, of Rural Edison, Nebraska died Wednesday, June 2, 2010 as a result of car-train accident East of Edison, Nebraska. She was born September 2, 1929 in Phelps County, Nebraska to Leon & Martha (Strom) Shield. She grew up in the Altanta, Nebraska area. She graduated from High School at Mascot, Nebraska with the Class of 1947. She married Frank Fewell on September 19, 1947 at Holdrege, Nebraska. They farmed in Furnas County all there married lives. She was a member of Christian Church at Edison, Nebraska where she was Sunday School Teacher for some 30 years as well as Ladies Aid at the church. She also belong to American Legion Auxiliary at Arapahoe, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 Brothers: Kenneth Shield, Harold Shield and Eldon Shield. Survivors include husband: Frank of Edison Daughter: Martha "Marty" and husband Bob Mitchell of Edison, Nebraska Grandchildren: 2 Great-Grandchildren: 1 Viewing and visitation will Sunday, June 6, 2010, 2 PM until 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe, Nebraska. Burial will follow at Edison Cemetery at Edison, Nebraska. Memorial established in her memory and can left at funeral home or the church.
