Larry Arlyn Lambert, 72, of Grand Island, Nebraska, went to his heavenly home on May 18, 2026, after courageously battling complications from liver disease and, in the end, cancer. He was born on September 12, 1953, in McCook, Nebraska, to Dorothy and Arlyn Lambert. Larry grew up on a farm 10 miles south of Beaver City, Nebraska, where he learned the value of hard work and community.

On June 2, 1974, Larry married his high school sweetheart, Brenda Brown, in Beaver City, Nebraska. Together for nearly 53 years, they built a life centered around family, education, and service to others.

Growing up, Larry had a natural love of athletics, enjoying baseball, basketball, and football, as well as fishing. In later years, he became an avid golfer and took great pleasure in living near the golf course in Grand Island, where he could often be found enjoying a round with friends and family.

Larry dedicated his professional life to education, leaving a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues. Over the course of his career, he served as a math teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent. His career took him to schools across Nebraska, including Eustis, Elwood, Arapahoe, Albion, Centura, Giltner, and Imperial, as well as Woodbine, Iowa. Through his many years of service, he touched the lives of thousands of students across these communities, leaving a legacy that will endure for generations.

Beyond the classroom and the gym, nothing brought Larry greater joy than his own children and grandchildren. He was their biggest supporter, taking immense pride in watching them grow and succeed. Whether it was cheering them on at a sporting event, attending a music concert, or offering words of wisdom to guide them through life’s challenges, Larry was always present and engaged. He cherished every moment spent with his family and delighted in helping them find their own paths in life, education, music, and sports.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Lambert of Grand Island; his son, Joseph Lambert and wife Brooke of Lincoln, Nebraska, and their children Mccoy, Lincoln, Connor, and Thomas; his son, Adam Lambert and wife April of Imperial, Nebraska, and their children Cadence, Cohen, Leah, Madelynn, and Brynn; his brother, Chuck Lambert and wife Jaylene of Rose Hill, Kansas; and his sister, Jacque Marshall and husband Ivan of Ravenna, Nebraska.
