Kenneth (Ken) Ralph Fisher, age 69, of Oxford, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2020 at C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center in Arapahoe, Nebraska. He was born on May 27th 1950 in Broken Bow Nebraska to Ralph Ellis and Hazel Marie (McKnight) Fisher. Ken graduated from Beaver City High School Class of 1968. After graduation he moved to Denver Colorado to attend National Electronics Institute where he took air conditioning and heating classes. While in school he worked at IHOP, starting out as a bus boy/dish washer and moved up to cook. Sometimes he’d go in early to help out in trade for breakfast and lunch. He also worked at Arby’s. He got a job working at Western Union operating Sub Station Teletype Printer then started to deliver money orders and telegrams in his car. Ken moved back home to Beaver City in 1971 and worked at the Church Factory in Oxford. He installed church furniture in many states. Ken had many carpentry jobs thru his life from building new houses for Johnson Imperial Homes to building High Rises in downtown Denver which he joined the Carpenters Union, to the family Motel and Apartments in Beaver City and numerous others jobs he really enjoyed building things. 1991-2008 he worked for American Couriers Corporations out of Lincoln Nebraska. In 1972, he married Rita (Booker) Covey and adopted her 3yr old son Travis. In 1974 they had a son Kip. In 1979, he met Charlotte Jackson and they had a son Shawn in 1987. Ken loved joking and kidding around with people. Spending time with his family and friends, going to the NHRA drags and car shows. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by sons Travis Fisher and wife Cindy of Oxford, Nebraska, Kip Fisher and wife Alissa of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Shawn Fisher and wife Caitlynn of Torrington Wyoming. 4 grandchildren: Jocelyn Stern husband Max of Littleton, Colorado, Kennedy, Camryn and Kade Fisher of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Step Grandchildren: Jasmine Kipp and husband Cord of Bertrand, Nebraska, Jon Micheal Wood of Hastings, Nebraska, Amanda Shockey of Hastings, Nebraska, Brothers: Steve Fisher and wife LaCreta of Beaver City, Scott Fisher and wife Jeanne of Ansley, Nebraska, Sister: Cheryl Ruhter and husband Rod of Lincoln, Nebraska, and a host of Nieces, Nephews and Friends. There will be a Celebration of Life announced at a later date. There is no viewing or visitation as cremation was chosen.
