Jerry Dale Horton

Arapahoe, Nebraska Jerry Dale Horton, age 61, of Littleton, Colorado, formerly of Arapahoe, Nebraska died Thursday, May 10, 2007 at Cherrelyn Health Care Center, Littleton, Colorado. He was born on September 25, 1945 at McCook, Nebraska to Van H. & Lora C. (Taylor) Horton. He graduated from Arapahoe High School, Arapahoe, Nebraska with the class of 1964. He married Sue Wolf in November of 1966 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska. They would later divorce. He started working for Hinky Dinky grocery stores in North Platte, Nebraska as a stock boy and worked his way up to management while also working at stores in Kearney, Nebraska, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, & McCook, Nebraska. He purchased the Jack & Jill grocery store in Wauneta, Nebraska in 1984 and operated it for a few years before managing the Nash Finch grocery stores in Cheyenne, Wyoming & Liberal, Kansas. He retired and moved back to Arapahoe, Nebraska. In September, 2005 he moved to Littleton, Colorado. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Arapahoe, Nebraska and served in the Nebraska National Guard Reserve. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Sunny Ann Horton, Brother-In-Law Lyle Weber. Survivors include Son: Trey & wife Stephanie Horton, of Denver, Colorado Daughters: Tori & husband Tim Hamill, of Denver, Colorado Tracia & husband Cedric Hawkins of Albuquerque, New Mexico Talana & husband Jeff Howard of Ridgecrest, California Brother: Dan & wife Verna Raye Horton, of McCook, Nebraska Sister: Colleen Weber of Arapahoe, Nebraska Grandchildren: 7 Condolences or personal reflections can be left at www.wenburgfuneralhome.com. Viewing & visitation will be Sunday, May 13, from 1 PM till 8 PM and Monday, May 14, from 9 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, in Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 15, at 10:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Arapahoe, Nebraska with Rev. Michael Flury, officiating. Interment will be at Arapahoe Cemetery, at Arapahoe, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
