Janice Lee Breinig

Janice Lee Breinig, age 67, of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Cambridge Hospital, in Cambridge, Nebraska. She was born in Cambridge, Nebraska on August 5, 1947 to Lee & Fredericka (Weber) Evertson. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1965. While waitressing at a café in Cambridge, she caught the eye of Duane ‘Red’ Breinig. They were married May 1, 1966, and made their home on a farm northeast of Arapahoe. Their first daughter, LeAndra Kay, was born in 1968. Janice entered nursing school in North Platte, NE and graduated in 1972. Their second daughter, Jennifer Lynn, was born in 1979. Janice spent her career and life caring for others. She took care of patients at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, the Cambridge Hospital, and Tri-Valley Health Systems all as an LPN. Her job description included, but was not limited to the following: comforting the sick and dying, dressing wounds, kissing owies, comforting babies and children (and adults) who required injections, holder of hands, wiper of tears, and caretaker to all who needed extra love. She also had a very active job description when away from work: loving wife and mother, spoiler of grandchildren, Quiz Bowl and Speech Team cheerleader, enthusiastic Husker football fan, extra parent/grandparent to all, prayer warrior, and devoted friend. She was immensely proud of all of her grandchildren and looked forward to her time with the LWML Charity Circle ladies. Her contagious optimism and loving and gentle manner will be missed by all who experienced them. She was reunited in heaven with her parents, sister, Barbara Besler, and her husband, Duane ‘Red’ Breinig. Her family waiting for a glorious reunion include her daughters, LeAndra Monie and Jennifer Blake; sons-in-law Todd Monie and Allen Blake; and grandchildren Garrett, Kyla, and Derek Monie, and Cael Blake. Viewing and visitation will be Wednesday, February 11, 2015, from 10 AM until 8 PM at the Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church.
