Arapahoe, Nebraska Helen Elizabeth Esslinger, age 81, of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the Cambridge Manor, Cambridge, Nebraska. She was born on August 18, 1926 near Broken Bow, Nebraska to Fred & Ollie (Palmer) Reed. She attended rural school in Custer County, Nebraska and graduated from Broken Bow High School with the Class of 1945. She attended Kearney State Teachers College and would return to Custer County to teach at rural schools for 18 years. On September 10, 1965 she married Donald Boyd, they made their home north of Holbrook, Nebraska until Donald death in 1972. She would then move to Arapahoe, Nebraska and work at C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center for 15 years. She married Raymond Esslinger on May 10, 1975. Raymond would pass away on February 9, 1996. In May of 2008 she would move to the Cambridge Manor, Cambridge, Nebraska. She became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska in 1974. She enjoyed puzzles, handwork, paint by numbers, and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Donald Boyd & Raymond Esslinger, brother Philip Reed, & sisters Edna Spritzer & Carol Reed. She is survived by Sister-In-Law Dorothy Esslinger of Arapahoe, Nebraska Special Friends: Irene Knappert & Terry Mather of Arapahoe, Nebraska Condolences or personal reflections can be left at www.wenburgfuneralhome.com. Viewing & visitation will be Saturday, May 17, from 9 AM till 8 PM, & Sunday, May 18, from 1 PM till 8 PM at the Funeral Home and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Monday, May 19, 2008 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Rev. David Otten, officiating. Burial will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
