Arapahoe, Nebraska Floyd A. “Bill” Fisher, age 81, of Arapahoe, Nebraska died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the Cambridge Hospital, Cambridge, Nebraska. He was born on February 28, 1929 north of Edison, Nebraska on the family farm to Melvin & Mabel (Musick) Fisher. He attended rural school in the area and when he was in the 6th grade, his family moved to a farm north of Holbrook, Nebraska. He would then graduate from Holbrook High School with the Class of 1946. On September 2, 1951 he married Delores Breinig at the First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska. They made their home on a farm north of Cambridge, Nebraska. They resided in the Afton community until 1955 when they moved to Arapahoe and lived here until his death. Four children were born to this marriage. One daughter, Beverly DeeAnn, and three sons, Danny Allen, Billie Dean, and Darrell Eugene. They raised their family in Arapahoe and educated them in the Arapahoe and educated them in the Arapahoe Public Schools. Bill especially enjoyed attending all their school and 4-H activities. He was a farmer all of his life. He enjoyed working with the livestock, especially his flock of registered Suffolk Sheep. He would sell many 4-H show lambs. His grandchildren always got first pick of the flock before the rest of the lamb crop was sold. He was a leader in the Arapahoe Baby Beef 4-H club for many years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Arapahoe, and served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and head usher. He and Delores helped sponsor the Methodist Youth Fellowship for several years. He especially enjoyed working with all the young people. Due to failing health and when Delores could no longer care for him at home, he entered the CA Mues Good Samaritan Center in Arapahoe, Nebraska in June 26, 2006. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Helen, brother Preston Fisher, Brother-In-Law Herbert Walker, Great-Granddaughter Lexi Nicole Hock nephew David Walker. He is survived by his wife Delores Fisher of Arapahoe, Nebraska Daughter: DeeAnn & husband Randy Hock of Smithfield, Nebraska Sons: Dan & wife Donna Fisher of Arapahoe, Nebraska Dean & wife Kim Fisher of Arapahoe, Nebraska Darrell & wife Debbie Fisher of Lincoln, Nebraska Grandchildren: 11 Derek & wife Martha Hock, Nicholas and wife Kristy Hock, all of Bertrand, Nebraska.; Meriah and husband Tom Galyen of Lincoln, Nebraksa; Corey & wife Andrea Fisher of Ravenna, Nebraska; Dana & husband Brian Brinkman of Holdrege, Nebraska; Jillian & husband Marvin Gebhard of Almena, Kansas; Shawna & husband Ben Lansman of Ord, Nebraska; Carrye and husband Jim Schwarz of Kearney, Nebraska; Kelly & husband Greg Wren of Lincoln, Nebraska; Erin Fisher of Olathe, Kansas; Shannon Fisher of Lincoln, Nebraska Great Grandchildren: 13 Sister: Margaret Walker of Arapahoe, Nebraska Sister-In-Law: Maxine Fisher of Lincoln, Nebraska Condolences or personal reflections can be left at www.wenburgfuneralhome.com. Viewing & visitation will be Monday, February 28, 2011 from 9 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 2 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe, NE with Rev. Michael Flury, officiating. Interment will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
