Fae Lucille Long

Arapahoe, Nebraska Fae Lucille Long, age 86, of Arapahoe, Nebraska formerly of Holbrook, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center, in Arapahoe, Nebraska. She was born on June 1, 1926 to Carl and Mary (Mues) Mues on the family farm west of Arapahoe, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, of Arapahoe, Nebraska where she attended parochial school through the eight grade. She graduated from Holbrook High School in 1943. Following graduation, she worked at the Beaver City Courthouse and also for the Equity Store in Arapahoe. On November 24, 1946, she was united in marriage to Derryl R. Long of Holbrook. They celebrated 59 years of marriage, farming and raising their family. She moved to Prairie Pines Retirement Center in Arapahoe in 2004 and lived there until December 2012. Fae devoted her life to being a wife and mother and did so with strength, good humor, and endless patience. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe, Nebraska. She was preceded in death were her parents, brothers Albert, Ernest, Clarence, Herman, Leonard, and Melvin; sisters Elsie, Emma, Velma, and Myrtle; husband Derryl in 2006 and sons Douglas and David in 2008. She is survived are her sons: Duane and wife Kathy Long of Holdrege, Nebraska Richard & wife Lori Long of Kearney, Nebraska Dale & wife Kathy Long of Holbrook, Nebraska Dennis & wife Jan Long of Lincoln, Nebraska Daughter: Rosemary & husband Kevin Johnson, of Clive, Iowa Daughters-In-Law: Sandra Long of Holbrook, Nebraska Linda Long of Norton, Kansas Brother: Dean & wife Lucille Mues of Grand Rapids, Michigan Sisters-In-Law: Marjorie Dixon of Omaha, Nebraska Norma Long of Sidney, Nebraska Brother-In-Law: Roger Long & wife Mary Ellen of Holbrook, Nebraska Grandchildren: 19 Great-Grandchildren: 31 Condolences or personal reflections may be left at wenburgfuneralhome.com Viewing and visitation will be Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 10 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Rev. James Moshier, officiating. Burial will be at the Holbrook Cemetery, Holbrook, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
