Beaver City, Nebraska Evelyn M. Keezer, age 88, of Beaver City, Nebraska died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Beaver City Manor at Beaver City, Nebraska. She was born March 7, 1921 at Beaver City, Nebraska to Christopher and Ethel (Turner) Clason. Evelyn was born and raised in Beaver City, Nebraska. She graduated from Beaver City High School with Class of 1939. Following graduation she taught rural school South of Beaver City, Nebraska for several years. She married Jess Keezer on July 25, 1944 on family farm where she was born. They farmed with Grandpa Clason for a few years and moved to several communities including the State of Oregon, Norton, Kansas, Beaver City and then Denver, Colorado in 1965. After a year in Denver they returned Beaver City where she resided till her death. She was a cook at Beaver City Schools from 1966 until 1974. Her husband Jess died March 9, 1999. She moved to Beaver City Plaza that same year and remained at Plaza till she moved into Beaver City Assisted Living in 2006 and then to the Beaver City Manor in 2007. She was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Beaver City since 1945, where she had been Sunday School Superintendent for 20 years, Sunday School teacher, Church Clerk and treasurer, deaconess and member of Women Missionary Council for a number of years. She also had been a member of Royal Neighbors of America. Over the years she helped with Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Her greatest joy was to serve her Lord, her family and others. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jess, son LeRoy in 1984 and brother Wayne in 1964. Survivors include: 2 Sons: Ray Keezer and wife Linda of Grand Island, Nebraska Randy Keezer & wife Joy of Spokane, Washington 2 Daughters: Connie and husband Robert Leonard of Beaver City, Nebraska Lola and husband Rod Yoder of Warsaw, Indiana Daughter-in-Law: Jean Keezer-Clayton of Holdrege, Nebraska Sister; Doris Marquis of Holdrege, Nebraska Grandchildren: 13 Great-Grandchildren: 12 Condolences or personal reflections can be left at www.wenburgfuneralhome.com Viewing & visitation will be Sunday, June 14, 2 PM until 8 PM, Monday, June 15, 9 AM until 9 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, Nebraska and prior to services Tuesday at the church. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 16, 2009.. 10:30 AM at Grace Brethren Church at Beaver City, Nebraska with Pastors, Dwain Fowler & Jean Keezer-Clayton, officicating. Burial will we be at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska in charge of arrangements.
