Eunice Loreen Paxton

Arapahoe, Nebraska Eunice Loreen Paxton, age 70, passed away on June 8, 2005 at her home at Immanuel Trinity Village in Papillion, Nebraska. She was born on September 6, 1934 to Oscar A. and Elsie (Monter) Wendland in Gosper County, NE. Eunice was the youngest of 5 children. She attended grade school at the Immanuel Parochial School north of Arapahoe through 8th grade. She then attended Arapahoe High School and graduated in 1952. On May 21, 1954 she married Donald Paxton. There were 5 children born to this union. Eunice was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe Nebraska, and a member of the LWML. Her favorite pastime was quilting. In her earlier days she enjoyed playing softball, bowling, gardening, and driving truck with her husband Don. On Feb. 5, 1989 her husband Don passed away. In August of 1998, Eunice moved to Alma NE. In June of 2003 she moved to the Assisted Living facility-Immanuel Trinity Village in Papillion NE. She is preceded in death by her husband Don, parents, one brother Glen, and one sister Glenva Wendland. She is survived by 3 sons-- Billy and wife Patty Paxton of Superior, NE George and wife Andrea Paxton of Papillion, NE Jim Paxton of McCook, NE 2 daughters--Janice Avary and husband Gary of Alma NE, Patti Schievelbein and husband Greg of Omaha NE 13 Grandchildren & 5 Great-grandchildren 2 Sister Helen Wendland of Holbrook, NE and Eleanor Shelor of Lexington NE. 1 Sister in-law Norma Wickham and husband Eldon of Arapahoe NE. Viewing and visitation will be Saturday, June 11, from 1 PM till 8 PM and Sunday, June 12, from 1 PM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, Arapahoe, NE. Funeral services will be at 2 pm, on Monday, June 13, 2005 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe NE with Rev. Jeff W. Ernstmeyer, officiating. Burial will be at Arapahoe Cemetery, at Arapahoe, NE. Memorials may be left at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe, NE or given in Eunice’s name to “The Lutheran Hour”.
