Dorothy Ruth (Stalder) Lambert

Dorothy Ruth (Stalder) Lambert, age 81, passed away Wednesday, November 25, at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Holdrege, Nebraska with Arlyn at her side. She was born October 27, 1934 on a farm southwest of Beaver City, Nebraska to John Ernest and Edith Jane (McCormack) Stalder. She graduated from Beaver City High School with the Class of 1952 and in the fall of that same year became a teacher at District #50 west of Beaver City. On February 27, 1953 she married her high school sweetheart, Arlyn Lambert, and together they created a family farm south of Beaver City along the Sappa Creek. She was a great mother to her three children Larry Arlyn, Jacqueline Lynn and Charles Lee. Dorothy was a member of and baptized in the Presbyterian Church in Beaver City, NE where she also taught Sunday school for 39 years. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Women’s group and presented many programs at the local nursing home as well as childrens' sermons at church. As a farm wife she was physically involved in daily farm chores--milking cows, feeding pigs, chickens and livestock. She was a Cub Scout leader and a tutor for children in the neighborhood. Dorothy loved helping others, especially her neighbors. She helped clean their houses, and assist with any seamstress/upholstery work, meals and babysitting. Ultimately, Dorothy's mission in life was to make sure that her children and grandchildren knew the ways of the Lord and had accepted Christ as their personal Savior. Family members will recall taking turns lighting the advent wreath candles, reading scripture or putting flannel board characters up to display a bible story. She kept in touch with her friends and family members far and near with letters, greeting cards, Facebook, and phone calls. Greeting her in heaven are her parents John and Edith Stalder; brothers, Donald and Leo Stalder; sisters, Maxine Bishop and Darlene Anderson; nieces Susan (Bishop) Long, Diane (Stalder) Gewecke, Donna Stalder; nephews Gary Stalder and Terry Simmons. Those left to cherish her many memories are her husband of 62 years, Arlyn Lambert of Beaver City; her son, Larry (Brenda) of Grand Island, NE and her daughter, Jacque (Ivan) Marshall of Kearney, NE and her son, Chuck (Jaylene) of Bridgeport, NE; six grandchildren, Joe Lambert (Brooke) of Omaha, NE; Adam Lambert (April) of Elkhorn, NE; Vanessa Robbins of Alliance, NE; Chantell (Aric) Mickelsen of York, NE; Alicia Lambert of Kearney, NE and Molly Lambert of Bridgeport, NE; five great-grandchildren, Mccoy and Lincoln Lambert of Omaha, NE, Cadence, Cohen and Leah Lambert of Elkhorn, NE; brother Ernie Stalder of Beaver City, NE; sister Doris Sydow of Trenton, NE; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends Condolences or personal reflections can be left at wenburgfuneralhome.com Viewing and visitation will be Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 10 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, Nebraska with family present from 5 PM till 7 PM.
