Doris M. Oleson

Doris M. Oleson, age 94, of Kearney, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Wel-Cov Assisted Living, in Kearney, Nebraska. She was born on January 2, 1920, at Nora, Nebraska in Nuckolls County to Charley & Bertha (Wilson) Hamel. She married Ole Oleson Jr. on January 4, 1942. They would farm northwest of the Holbrook, Nebraska for the next 36 years. She enjoyed working alongside her husband on the farm, helping out where needed. Her husband would pass away in December of 1980. She would live in central Nebraska in various towns until moving in 2011 to Wel-Cov Assisted Living in Kearney, Nebraska. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Holbrook, Nebraska. She enjoyed spending much of her time watching birds. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ole, son Jan D. Oleson, brothers Harold, Kenneth Ward, Orin, & Ralph, sisters Mildred Buckert & Bernice Ross She is survived by her daughter-in-law: Betty Oleson-Sargent & husband Curtis of Cozad, Nebraska 2 Granddaughters: Terri Ripp & husband Jake of Sumner, Nebraska Linda Trampe & husband Trent of Riverdale, Nebraska 5 Great Grandchildren: Samantha, Sara, & Sidney Ripp, Talon & Thatcher Trampe Great-Great Grandchildren: Carter Kresser Condolences or personal reflections can be left at wenburgfuneralhome.com There will be no viewing or visitation as cremation was chosen. Memorial services will be on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 11 AM at the United Methodist Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Pastor George Probasco, officiating. Private inurnment will be at the Holbrook Cemetery at Holbrook, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the Holbrook Cemetery Association. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
