Beaver City, Nebraska Donald D. Harrold, age 85, of Beaver City, Nebraska formerly of Oxford, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Beaver City Manor, Beaver City, Nebraska. He was born on February 15, 1928 south of Beaver City, Nebraska to Pearl R. & Mabel A. (Goodwin) Harrold. He was the 7th of 8 children. He was born south of Beaver City and at age 6 moved four miles north of Beaver City. Don was baptized in the First Christian Church in Beaver City. He attended Beaver City High School. He worked at the Hollinger, Beaver City, & Oxford Elevators, while serving as manager in Oxford for a many years. He married Luella Gerd on December 2, 1950 in Oxford, Nebraska. To this union 3 son were born; Bill, Tom, & Jerry. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oxford, Nebraska. Don would move to the Beaver City Manor in 2011 because of health problems. He enjoyed many days fishing on Harlan County Reservoir. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Ruth Brand & Edith Black, brothers Lloyd & Paul Harrold, son Jerry Harrold, Daughter-In-Law Cindy Harrold, and Great Granddaughter Rachael Harrold. He is survived by his wife Luella Harrold of Beaver City, Nebraska Sons: Bill Harrold of Albuquerque, New Mexico Tom & wife Jan Harrold of Holdrege, Nebraska Sister: Mildred Barker of Morgan Hill, California Pauline Huff of Loveland, Colorado Carol Theobald of Beaver City, Nebraska Sister-In-Law: Donna Blees of Alma, Nebraska 4 Grandchildren: Matt (Brett) Harrold, Jasey (Chris) Faulkner, Drew (Lindsay) Harrold, Jamie (Jessica) Harrold 5 Great Grandchildren: Blake& Adalaid Harrold, Lucinda Faulkner, Jadon & Reese Harrold Condolences and personal reflections may be sent to wenburgfuneralhome.com Viewing and visitation will be Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 10 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the First Baptist Church in Oxford, Nebraska with Pastor Brian Jenkins, officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
