Dennis Wayne Clason, age 79, of Beaver City, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at his home. He was born on May 27, 1946 at the Norton County Hospital, Norton, Kansas.
He attended Beaver City Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1964. After graduation, Dennis attended Denver Automotive Institute. He would return from Denver and work in Beaver City for Tillman Rozean at Rozean Repair. Dennis would eventually run Denny’s Auto Body until retirement to be a full-time farmer. He married Karla Kay Cozad of Norcatur, Kansas on February 8, 1970. After marriage, Dennis and Karla would raise their family on the Wayne and Elsie Clason family farm south of Beaver City, Nebraska.
Dennis especially enjoyed raising cattle and farming with his son, Lance. Dennis and Lance would rebrand the farm into Snowy Hill Cattle Farm (SHCF) in 1996. The SHCF registered cattle prefix continues today and now incorporates two grandchildren; KC Show Cattle with the KORC prefix. Outside of auto body work, farming, and cows, he remained active in the community holding positions for numerous years on the Beaver City School Board and Ag Valley Cooperative Board.
Dennis accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized at 12 years of age. Dennis continued his faith walk as an active member of the Grace Brethren Church. He served as a Sunday School teacher, trustee, deacon and moderator until its closing. He was a present member of the Grace Fellowship Church until his passing.
You could always find Dennis attending one of his children’s sporting or livestock events. In later years, he did the same for his 4 grandkids; Korynn Clason, Conner Hibberd, Nathan Hibberd, and Kolbryn Clason. Outside of a sporting or livestock event; farm life kept Dennis and Karla close to home. However, over the last 20 years, they found great joy in attending sprint car and World of Outlaw races in Knoxville, Iowa and Belleville, Kansas. Dennis throughly enjoyed local dirt track races, was an avid Husker sports fan, and loved his Sunday night popcorn.
He was proceeded in death by his mother Elsie Clason Dunlap and father Wayne Clason, three sisters Joycelyn Hyke, Juanita Hyke, and infant Janice Clason, four brothers-in-law Gary Chapman, Floren “Shob” Hyke, Bob Hyke, and Dwight Vise, father-in-law Van Cozad and mother-in-law Irene Cozad, nieces Sherry Sindt, Pam Harper, Sharon Hyke, and Jeri Hyke, nephews Rick Hyke, and Shawn, Doug, & Kirk Gallentine.
He is survived by his wife Karla, son Lance Alan and wife Erin Clason, daughter Heather Ann and husband Terry Hibberd, sister Norma Lee Chapman, sister-in-law Ruth Vise, 4 grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial can be made out in his name and will be designated at a later date.
