Deloris Diane Erickson, a vibrant soul who touched the lives of many, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, at the age of 63, in Alma, Nebraska, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 3, 1962, in Oxford, Nebraska, she was the beloved daughter of Orie G. and Deloris B. (Einspahr) Jochem.
Deloris grew up in a close-knit family, where she learned the values of hard work and love for family that would guide her throughout her life. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1980 and carried those values into her own family as she raised her children. She is survived by her two cherished children, Rocky Erickson (with his wife, Brandie) of Waverly, and Alyssa (with her husband, Cody Kindler) of Alma. Deloris found immense joy in her role as a grandmother, doting on her grandchildren: Haydenn, Nevaeh, Brantlee, and Paislee Kindler of Alma, as well as Wyatt, Jameson, and Reagan Erickson of Waverly.
Deloris was a loving sister, and she leaves behind a legacy of warmth and camaraderie through her siblings: Paulette Jochem of Lexington, Margerie and Darvin Abraham of Cambridge, Irene Hosier of Oxford, Virginia Abraham of Stanton, Iowa, Richard and Nancy Jochem of Edison, and Laurie and Jimmy Quinn of Oxford. She was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, all of whom she cherished deeply.
Throughout her life, Deloris was known for her hardworking nature and unwavering dedication to her family. She was a true Husker fan, proudly supporting her team with a fervor that brought joy and excitement to her family gatherings. Those who knew her will remember her infectious laughter and her ability to bring people together, creating cherished memories.
Deloris was preceded in death by both of her beloved parents and her brother-in-law, Steve Hosier. Their absence is felt deeply by all who loved her, yet her spirit lives on through the countless lives she touched during her time on this earth.
