Delbert C. Siegfried, age 90, of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital at Cambridge, Nebraska. He was born on October 31, 1923 at Lincoln, Nebraska to E. George & Emma (Luedtke) Siegfried.
After his schooling he went into the U.S. Army in 1940, and served in the European Theatre during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1945. He married Mary Kennedy at Oberlin, Kansas on August 15, 1944. They would farm at Traer, Kansas for a number of years. They would then move to Colorado Springs, Colorado to work for the U.S. Postal Service. After many years of postal work, they moved to California were he worked as a salesman for different companies and a mechanic for Toyota. After retirement, they moved to Danbury, Nebraska. In 2001, they would move to Heritage Plaza in Cambridge, Nebraska and later to Arapahoe, Nebraska. His wife Mary would pass away in 2004. Because of health problems, Delbert would move to the Prairie Pines Retirement Home, in 2011. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion Post in Danbury, Nebraska.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary, brothers Eugene & Larry Siegfried, sisters Eloise Holliday, Phyllis Smith, & infant Carrol Siegfried.

Viewing and visitation will be Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 10 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Pastors Becky Saddler & George Probasco, officiating. Interment will be at Oberlin Cemetery at Oberlin, Kansas. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
