Dale Raymond Laizure, age 89, of Stamford, Nebraska passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 9, 2024, from a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 17, 1935, the third of four children to Ira D. and Edna J. (Anderson) Laizure on the family farm in Fairfield Township southwest of Stamford, Nebraska.

Dale attended country school district #43 and then attended Stamford High School and graduated with the class of 1952. He entered the Army on January 14, 1958. He was very proud to serve in Alaska when it became a state on January 3, 1959. He was honorably discharged on January 8, 1960. After his discharged, he returned to the family farm and farmed with his father. 

He was united in marriage to Janet Elaine Harbert at Union Church in Moorefield, Nebraska on March 8, 1964. They resided on the family farm and to this union they were blessed with 4 daughters Jodi Lynn, Kandis Rae, Dalette ReNae and Erin Jannae. Dale started working at the Stamford Elevator in 1978, he continued to farm and milk cows, and retired from Ag Valley in 2008.

Dale loved sports. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs. He played softball with the Stamford Country Boys and enjoyed playing against his friends from surrounding communities. He was a member of Tripe TV bowling team and had many trophies to be proud of. He was a member of Stamford Chamber of Commerce, Stamford and Orleans Lions Club, Good Guys and Good Gals Club. He is a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Stamford. 

Dale had many friendships through the years. He was well known for his sense of humor and played many pranks. He worked hard and provided for his family. He is going to be deeply missed by his family. 

On December 26, 2016, they lost the family house to a house fire. Dale and Janet resided with their daughter Dalette Webster until they bought a house in Stamford in March 2017. Dale and Janet celebrated 60 years of marriage this year in March. 

Dale is survived by his wife Janet Laizure of Stamford, daughters Jodi Laizure of Holdrege, Kandis Laizure of McCook, Dalette & husband Marc Webster and Erin Laizure of Alma. His loving fur companion Cubbie of 14 years. 2 grandchildren: Calvin Dale Webster and his wife Allison of Valentine, Nebraska, Miakayla Elaine Almanza and her husband David of Kearney, Nebraska, two Great-Grandchildren: Paisley Webster of Valentine, Nebraska and Thomas Almanza of Kearney, Nebraska. His sister Dorothy Larson of Enderlin, North Dakota, and brother-in-law Ron Wiiest of Moorefield, Nebraska and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law Edgar and Murrel Harbert, brothers Wendell Laizure and Leland “Pete” Laizure, Brother-In-Law John Larson and Sister-In-Law Joan Wiiest.

Military rites will be provided by the Stamford American Legion and Nebraska Army/National Guard Funeral Honors Team. Memorials are suggested to Stamford Fire and Rescue Squads.
