Caryln Ann Kraft, age 83, of Ogallala/Roscoe, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, December 26th, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born Caryln Ann Frickey in Nampa, Idaho on March 20, 1941, to parents Virgil and Vivian (Thomas) Frickey.
After graduating from Ogallala, Caryln began working factory and various other jobs developing a strong work ethic and independence that would become her way of life. She independently raised 3 daughters with devotion and dedication, creating many precious memories like journeying on mini vacations or taking in a late-night drive-in movie. Caryln married Edwin C. Kraft on April 10, 1978, blending families and lovingly gaining a son and two additional daughters.
Family meant everything, and her grandchildren were especially her joy. She had a true servant’s heart, always giving more than she had.
She was a fearless entrepreneur and a hard worker, owning/operating apartment buildings, a restaurant and a motel and working as a rest area maintenance manager for many years before retiring in her mid-70’s. Caryln also loved to socialize with co-workers, customers and people in general and the friends she made along the way were lifelong.
Caryln spoke often about the love and gratitude she had for Jesus and will leave a legacy that will continue to uplift and inspire generations to come. We celebrate her remarkable life of courage and strength, gratitude, humbleness and love.
Caryln was preceded in death by her husband Ed, her parents, two brothers Ron and John, two sisters Juanita and Virginia and her stepdaughter Marlie.
Survivors include daughters Tina Black of Trenton, Christine Kramer of Trenton, Vivian Black of Oxford, Kim Fraser and husband Calvin of Brule, and son Dean Kraft and his wife Shannon of Gulf Breeze Florida, 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, Sisters Verla Fister of Lebanon Oregon, Rose Lovenburg of Lincoln, Donna Smith of Roscoe and Alice Majorins of Grand Island, many beloved nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
