Carole R. Clary

Holbrook, Nebraska Carole R. Clary, age 70, of Holbrook, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at her home. She was born on January 9, 1043 north of Cambridge, Nebraska to Harold & Lela (Newcomb) Barnett. Carole attended two country schools north of Holbrook and then attended Holbrook High School. She enjoyed working on the family farm with her parents growing up. She was employed at Monroe’s in Cozad, Nebraska for several years, and also helped with road construction, head of maintenance for several apartments in Hastings, and worked on the construction of the grain bins at the Holbrook elevators. Carole and George Clary were married for a short time and to this union two daughters were born; Kimberly and Amy. Kim passed away at the age of 20 years. Amy is married to Dirk Barnett, which blessed her with two grandchildren, Boe and Baylee. She would call every day to ask how her grandchildren had done that day in different sporting events and life activities. Carol loved being outside and enjoyed planting a garden each year. She enjoyed playing pool, canning, yard work, & spending time with her dogs Bo & Sophie. She attended the Baptist Church in Holbrook until she was no longer able to attend due to her health, but she loved listening to sermons and Church music in her home. She was baptized this year and had turned her life over to God. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Kim, nephews Dennis and Caleb, and sisters-in-law Carolyn & Amie. She is survived by her daughter: Amy and husband Dirk Barnett of Funk, Nebraska Grandchildren: Boe Ross & Baylee Kimbarly Barnett Brothers: Ron Barnett & Dennis Barnett of Holbrook, Nebraska Bob Barnett & wife Jeanie of Norcatur, Kansas Mark Barnett of Tecumseh, Nebraska Sister: Kathy Holliday & husband Bill of Aurora, Nebraska LeAnn Huxoll & husband Jim of Holbrook, Nebraska Special Friend: Marian Wilson of Holbrook, Nebraska and many Nieces and Nephews who were very special to her. Carole had a close relationship with many friends that she loved to talk with on the phone. Graveside services will be Monday, November 11, 2013 at 1:30 PM at the Holbrook Cemetery, Holbrook, Nebraska with Pastor Dale Whitson, officiating.
