Burdene Kasson, age 101, of Beaver City, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the Beaver City Manor, Beaver City, Nebraska. She was born on January 18, 1924 to Emmett & Josephine (Brown) Walker.
She was raised in Lebanon, Nebraska. After high school graduation, she went to McCook and worked at the McCook Army Air Base during WWII. She married Glen Kasson in 1945 and spent the next 25 years as the wife of a farmer. She spent the next 30 years cooking for the Beaver City and Southern Valley Schools. During the summer, you could find her at the "Blue Ribbon" managing that restaurant during the Furnas County Fair week. Glen and Burdene raised 3 children, Denzel, Kay and Dan.
She was preceded in death by husband Glen, son Denzel and daughter Kay.
Burdene leaves behind son Dan and wife Pam Kasson of Severance, Colorado; three granddaughters, Michelle Eberle and husband Anthony of Twin Falls, Idaho, their 7 children, Amanda, Emily, Bret Jr, Lauren, Matthew, Aaron and Antonia plus three great-great grandkids, Luke, Thomas and Sophie. Angela Ainsworth and husband Jake of Burbank, California and their two children Richie and Berkeley of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Andrea McFarlane and husband Zac of Windsor, Colorado and their 3 boys, Jack, Benjamin and Nathaniel.
Burdene had a "green thumb" as she spent a lot of time outdoors in her garden and flower beds. She will be missed!
Family asked that memorials go to First Presbyterian Church or donor’s choice.
