Bradley (Brad) Neil McMullen, age 63, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Omaha, Nebraska. He was born February 22, 1961 in Norton, Kansas, to Larry and Jerris (Cuthbertson) McMullen. He was the first of five children.
Brad grew up in Norton, and graduated from Norton Community High School in 1979. After high school, he attended Colby Community College to pursue an Associate of Science Degree in Agriculture Business. Brad was a member of the Busy Jayhawker 4H Club. He enjoyed helping his children with their 4H projects. He was the Superintendent of the Beef Class at the Norton County Fair. He was also on the committee for the 4H Denver Livestock Trip. Brad loved horses, especially his beloved horse Lady. Brad always had horses and herding dogs when he could. He dedicated his life to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He got involved in his church, serving as a deacon and participating in the Men’s Group. The Northwest Kansas Men’s Encounter became a life changing event in his life. He had a strong passion to see other men in his life receive the gift he had come to accept when Jesus changed his life. He encouraged many to attend the Men’s Encounter.
On June 4, 2023, he married Shelly (Nichols) McMullen at Norton Christian Church. Together they spent time together renovating their home in Norton and visiting grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Many who knew Brad have described him as a humble servant leader. He didn’t draw attention to himself, but when he saw a need, he was there to help. He loved his wife and his family. His devotion to Shelly was amazing. He constantly looked for ways to make her life easier and more comfortable. His willingness to step up and serve when he saw people in need will be the legacy that Brad will leave that will last for generations.
