Bertha Marie Monter

Arapahoe, Nebraska Bertha Marie Monter, age 96, of Arapahoe, Nebraska, died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the CA Mues Good Samaritan Center, Arapahoe, Nebraska. She was born on April 25, 1911 in Gosper County, Nebraska to Charles & Emilie (Hinz) Gehring. She was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, north of Arapahoe, Nebraska. She attended the Lone Tree and Immanuel Lutheran schools. On March 20, 1930 she married Herman Monter, a farmer in the community. In 1950, they moved to a home and acreage just west of Arapahoe, Nebraska and she resided there until 1973 when she moved to Arapahoe, Nebraska. In 1977 her husband Herman passed away. She was a housekeeper for many families in the Arapahoe community & continued until her 80th birthday. Her last years have been in the care of C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center in Arapahoe, Nebraska She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church & Lutheran Women's Mission League of Arapahoe, Nebraska. Preceded in death by parents, husband Herman, brothers George, Bill, Gordon, Paul, & Edward Monter, & sister Erna, son-in-law Ron Glanzer. She is survived by daughters: Dolores & husband Leyland Hermes of Rogers, Arkansas Gertrude & husband Eugene McCue of Alma, Nebraska Ruth Glanzer of Longmont, Colorado Grandchildren: 7 Great-Grandchildren: 11 Great-Great Grandchildren: 2 Sister: Myrtle Hain of California Condolences or personal reflections can be left at www.wenburgfuneralhome.com. Viewing & visitation will be Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 9 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Friday, February 8, 2008 at 1:30 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Rev. David Otten, officiating. Burial at the Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska.
