Bernice I. Huxoll

Bernice I. Huxoll, age 95, of McCook, Nebraska, formerly of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Hillcrest Nursing Home, in McCook, Nebraska. She was born on April 10, 1918 south of Arapahoe, Nebraska to Ed & Anna (Reitz) Riepe. She was baptized on May 12, 1918 and confirmed on May 22, 1932 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe, Nebraska. After her mother passed away, she went to live with her uncle and aunt John & Ida Riepe in 1931. She would marry Arthur William Huxoll on January 21, 1936 at Oberlin, Kansas. Work would take them too many different state; Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, and California. They returned to Nebraska and lived in Stratton in 1963, then to McCook, Nebraska in 1975 and Holbrook, Nebraska in 1981. After the death of her husband Arthur, she would move to Arapahoe in 1993. In 2002 she would move to the Sunshine Village in Arapahoe. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, LWML, and served on the Rest Home committee while also helping with quilting and the Mission Mall. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur, sons Norman & Maurice Huxoll, brothers George & Edward Riepe, sisters Dora Wendland & Henrietta Lemen, granddaughter Melody Wendland, grandson Maurice Eugene Huxoll Jr., great granddaughter Ashley & Tiffany Huxoll, & Alishia Rains, great grandson Gary Lee Huxoll, brothers-in-law Martin Wendland and Don Lemen, sister-in-law Thelma Riepe She is survived by sons Larry Huxoll of White Water, Colorado Dennis & wife Jan Huxoll of David City, Nebraska Daughters: Delores & husband Rod Wichizer of Colfax, Washington Norene Jording of Arapahoe, Nebraska A host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, & Great-Great Grandchildren Condolences or personal reflections can be left at wenburgfuneralhome.com Viewing and visitation will be Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 1 PM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, in Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Monday, October 7, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Rev. James Moshier, officiating. Interment will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery, at Arapahoe, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the services.
