Ambrose W. Meyers

Arapahoe, Nebraska Ambrose W. Meyers, age 90, of Arapahoe, Nebraska died on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the Cambridge Hospital, in Cambridge, Nebraska. He was born on July 15, 1918 in Gosper County, Nebraska to William H. & Emilie J. (Monter) Meyers. He attended school at the Immanuel Lutheran Parochial school north of Arapahoe, Nebraska. After school he helped his family on the farm. He would then enlist in the Army. After his service duty, he returned to the family farm. On June 29, 1947 he married Ethel E. Rader at St. John's Lutheran Church, in Eustis, Nebraska. They made their home north of Arapahoe, Nebraska and farmed for many years. They would move to Arapahoe, Nebraska in 1975. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church of Eustis, Nebraska and the American Legion Post #343 of Edison, Nebraska. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Leon Meyers, granddaughter Elizabeth Meyers, daughter-in-law Rita Meyers, sister Leona Imig, infant brother Duane Eugene Meyers. Survivors include his wife Ethel E. Meyers of Arapahoe, Nebraska Sons: Charles & wife Kay Meyers of Red Cloud, Nebraska Daniel & wife Julie Meyers of Kearney, Nebraska Daughters: Linda & husband David DeOss of Columbus, Nebraska Sharol & husband Gary Banzhaf of Cozad, Nebraska Daughter-In-Law: Florence Rozendal of Grand Island, Nebraska Grandchildren: 11 Great-Grandchildren: 6 Step-Grandchildren: 4 Step- Great Grandchildren: 2 Condolences and personal reflections may be left at wenburgfuneralhome.com Viewing and visitation will be Tuesday, January 27, from 1 PM till 8 PM and Wednesday, January 28, from 9 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 29, at 10:30 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eustis, Nebraska with Rev. Beverly C. Rautenberg-Panko, officiating. Interment will be at the Immanuel Cemetery, north of Arapahoe, Nebraska. Military rites given by the American Legion Post #343 of Edison, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
